Important Information

Please read this information carefully:

Costs: All walks are free unless a charge is indicated in the walking details.

Personal Responsibility: The walking organisations offer their walks as carefully considered health and leisure experiences. All walks are in an everyday public environment. Participants take part at their own risk. They should be aware and take normal precautions when walking on public paths in towns and the countryside. The organisers are not liable for accident or injury however caused. You are advised to check your personal accident insurance.

Country Walks: Rambles involve several hours in the open. There can be rough ground and stiles to cross. It is vital to have suitable footware and to be protected from rain, cold or strong sun. Lunch stops are at pubs but you may bring your own packed lunch and drink to consume nearby. Make sure you are used to walking the distances. There is no access to public transport apart from start points. It is essential to contact the leader beforehand.

Public Transport: Start points are close to public transport stops. Please phone contact members for details.

Parking: There are car parks available for the start of all town walks. Country rambles may involve thoughtful parking in nearby roads.

Special Needs: Please phone the contact numbers for information about accessibility on town walks. The country walks this year are unsuitable for those with special mobility requirements.

Accommodation: Thanet has a varied range of hotels, travel inns and B & Bs. Please contact Visitor Information Centres at www.visitthanet.co.uk.

Group welfare: The varied nature of festival walks make them unsuitable for dogs. Walkers are asked not to smoke during the walks.

Booking: For safety reasons, walks leaders may have to limit numbers. It is advisable to book place on walks beforehand.
